Voting Procedures

How Voting Works

Beginning today through February 28, students can rate books on the RITBA list as they read them using the following scale:

⭐ Did not like. Do not recommend!

⭐⭐ It was okay/meh.

⭐⭐⭐ Liked it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really liked it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It was amazing. Will recommend to everyone I know!

Where can teens in grades 9-12 vote? Students can rate every book they read (voting early and often!) in their schools and local public libraries. The rating form also includes an optional book review/blurb field that may be used by RITBA to promote the books on the list. Remember, the rating window ends on February 28.

The 2025 RI Teen Book Award winner will be announced on April 5, 2025.

Ballots will be accepted online and at participating schools and libraries.

Are you a teen who wants to vote?

Teens in grades 9-12 are eligible to vote. Sorry, adults are not allowed to vote. Vote at your school or library, or submit your rating online at tinyurl.com/RITBAvote25 by February 28, 2025.

Are you a librarian interested in providing a voting station?

Interested schools and libraries can find the official rating form and a QR code to the digital form below. Librarians should report any physical voting results from their sites through the digital form individually at tinyurl.com/RITBAvote25 no later than Monday, March 3, 2025.
